Bahana International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (BIJMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must be original works and must not contain plagiarism in any form.

To ensure the originality of the manuscripts, all submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or other similar tools before entering the peer review process.

The editorial team applies the following plagiarism policies:

  1. Originality Requirement
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original. If the work or words of others have been used, they must be properly cited and referenced.

  2. Similarity Check
Manuscripts with a high level of similarity will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected. Generally, the acceptable similarity index should not exceed 20%, excluding references, quotations, and common phrases.

  3. Types of Plagiarism
The journal does not tolerate plagiarism in any form, including:

    • Direct plagiarism (copying text without proper citation)

    • Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment)

    • Mosaic plagiarism (mixing copied phrases without proper citation)

    • Improper paraphrasing

  4. Editorial Action
If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the editorial board reserves the right to retract the article and notify the author’s institution if necessary.

Through this policy, BIJMS ensures that all published research maintains academic honesty, originality, and credibility in scholarly communication.
